My book club hasn't met in months. Busy lives, pandemic, we lost our stride. Well, last night we had our first meeting in my screened in porch because of rainy weather. It was so great to talk about our families, the news, school, and of course books!

I finished Fahrenheit 451 and towards the end, there is this man Montag meets who is trying to explain the importance of what they do, which is to remember the books they've read even after they burned them. ⠀

Read it. Loved it. Not feeling up to fancy pictures today but wanted to drop a note on this writers craft book. The hero and the heroine are not gender specific titles. Wonder Women is a hero and Harry Potter a heroine. Curious? Take a read! The Heroine's Journey by Gail Carriger provides examples, definitions, a guide to writing these paths, ways to wiggle out of writes block, and for me it created a new way of seeing my characters relationship with others.

Big news. I sent my manuscript off to the copy editor! This is a big deal. Could it be possible after 42461+ edits, three years of crying, cheer, self-doubt, celebration, failure, lots of snacks, long nights, and shaking my muse awake that I am actually done developmental edits? What?

Currently reading Farenhieght 451. Never read this classic before and I'll be honest the beginning was hard to get into. Mildred, the wife of our MC is so odd and it seems death is discussed in such a casual manner. I'm more than half way through and now I'm drawn in. The importance of books is being explored as people are forced to burn them. I'm intrigued.

Gone 6 years. My sweet Jessie girl 🥰. I can still imagine her soft fur as I'd kiss her head. She was the only constant in my life until I met my husband. Jessie was my roommate. We shared sushi and long walks. I miss her endlessly. So much so, that input her in my upcoming sci-fi series. When my writers critique group first read about Jessie they all instantly feared something would happen to her.
